Shuckin' Shack Oyster Bar

This is Wade Newman.
He, and his friend Eric Weller,
brought a touch of the Carolinas to Frederick
when they opened the Shuckin' Shack Oyster Bar.
They wanted a place to have fun, watch sports, and eat good food.

Wade Newman, co-owner
The Shuckin' Shack started in Carolina Beach, NC in 2007,
and now has six franchise locations in the Carolinas,
and one in Frederick, MD.
Victoria, greeted us with a smile. She was a great waitress.
The atmosphere was cozy. There were many TV's for watching sports.
The food was good and prices were reasonable.

The oysters and lobster roll were delicious.
Can't wait to try a steampot.
It's nice to have a seafood restaurant back downtown.

Blizzard of 2016

Driving and walking around Frederick, on Monday afternoon,
I came across a few enjoying the limited open businesses,
enjoying a walk, or digging out of the 30+ inches
of snow we were clobbered with.

Lunch at Rex's.

Attempting to remove a snow overhang.

So much snow. Where does it go?

At the square corner. The center of town.

Federated Charities dog Charity.

Pup enjoying his first snow.

Walking on East Street

Ready to sled.

and which photo, if you wish.

Bruce Derrick

Bruce Derrick opened Crabapples, a traditional New York Deli, in 1988.
It is located at 101 West Patrick Street, and they must serve good food,
because they are always packed with customers,
except yesterday, when Bruce was digging his deli out of the Blizzard of 2016.
Voted Best Deli by Frederick Magazine's Readers Poll for 22 years.
