Blizzard of 2016

Driving and walking around Frederick, on Monday afternoon,
I came across a few enjoying the limited open businesses,
enjoying a walk, or digging out of the 30+ inches
of snow we were clobbered with.

Lunch at Rex's.

Attempting to remove a snow overhang.

So much snow. Where does it go?

At the square corner. The center of town.

Pink Ribbon 5K 2015

Today's post has many photographs, because it highlights the people who
participated in the Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund - Pink Ribbon 5K Run/Walk.
3.1 miles in a constant spray type rain, and below 50 F degrees.
Congratulations to all who participated, and raised money for a great cause.
Prayers and best wishes to all who have survived breast cancer
(and any other type of cancer), and to all who are fighting now.

Fight like a girl!

Rebecca, One of our local artists.

Rebecca Jackson is a volunteer art curator at the
FMH Women's Center Art Gallery at Crestwood.
She is also an art teacher at The Delaplaine Arts Education Center
and Young Rembrandt's in Frederick & Montgomery counties.
She is also one fantastic artist.
She is part of a group of Frederick area plein air painters.
You can see some of her work at this Fine Art America link.
I'm sure the Delaplaine may have some of her work,
either hanging or in the gift shop.

What can brown do for you?

What can brown do for you? Deliver parcels with a smile.
This is Phillip. For many years, he delivered a route downtown Frederick.
Now he has a route in the northern part of the city, around North East Street.
I have known Phillip for many years,
as we used to deliver to some of the same homes and businesses.
Now, he delivers to my home.

Jonathan

It is nice when one of our community comes to our home
to fix an important appliance.
Jonathan, from Dave's Mechanical Services, came by to fix our air conditioner.
Thank you, Jonathan for being good to us. We had a small bill and a repaired unit.

Giant Eagle Beauties

Shopping in Giant Eagle, on 7th Street, I just had to take these photographs.

Rose Marie has such a beautiful smile. I asked if I could take her photo and put it online. She shrugged her shoulders and said why not. She said she does not go on Facebook, but her grandchildren do. I gave her the address to this blog, so her grandchildren could find her photo.

I love Giant Eagles fried chicken. At 11:00 AM, Shawna was displaying fresh chicken out of the fryer. Doesn't the fried chicken look so good? Wait! This photo is about Shawna. Shawna was so helpful and has such a cute smile, and she served me that delicious fried chicken.

I actually took this photo earlier this month. The deli department had a little fun,
